In my paper I was trying to redirect the idea the punctuation, grammar, and error as important in the English Language when it comes to writing and communicating. My main point in my paper is that punctuation and grammar discourages kids to write when we should more so be encouraging them to write an excellent paper with error rather than a boring paper that is perfect. I supported this claim by bringing up points such as miscommunication, stunting the growth of writers, and text talk helping us communicate better than we would with perfect punctuation because it creates personality. For the miscommunication I know that people would argue that is because English is such a different language compared to others that naturally there would be miscommunication. With my idea about creativity and originality people would argue that it is distracting with punctuation all over the place and not proper. And lastly, with my point that texting isn’t ruining kids writing teachers would argue that it makes students sound choppy and unintelligent. I think my originality argument is very strong and also my text argument even though it is slightly confusing. I think that my argument on ESL students makes sense to me but is a little difficult for others to understand. I want my readers to respond to the texting argument a lot because I think many people would agree that it does not change how students write. If I were given more time I would work more on the argument of miscommunication during conversation.
