Paper #1 Final Draft

In this paper, I was trying to persuade readers that there is no need in having more than one citation style when it comes to crediting others authors' work. By choosing one central format that everyone uses, there will be less confusion and all teachers will be able to show their students the same style that is being used world-wide. I supported my claim by providing outside sources that agreed with me and a simple survey I conducted that showed most people only use one format anyway. An argument I provided was that each of the three styles have been used since the early 1900s, therefore they all have legitimate reasons to still be used. Through some research and evaluating my peers, I have come to the conclusion that MLA style is the most common citation format used by writers. I feel like my introduction is the strongest part of my paper and if I had more time, I would possibly contact some of my teachers from high school to see why they chose the style they did.
